Unless I’d totally glossed over it on their blackboard menu in the past, they now have grazing plates. We first try the Pork Belly served with cauliflower puree, apple paste & balsamic glaze. Yummo.
Next, we have the Seared Scallops with corn puree & semi-dried tomato. The generous serving was perfectly cooked. The corn puree was a sweet-on-sweet combination with the scallop flesh. Will definitely order it again.
For one of our mains, we share the Braised Beef Cheeks, served with potato fondant, baby carrot & jus from the braising. So tender and rich; again a very generous serving.
To top it off, we have the King Prawn Linguini with lemon, chilli, parsley and rocket wilted in olive oil. Good but unremarkable relative to the other dishes.
The word? Been going here for years now and the bistro doesn’t disappoint. Great place for hearty meals and beers during the week (have never been during the weekend).

I’m not 100% but did you meet me here one night with the Irish and we were extremely trashed? Or was that in Paddington. Do you know what I’m talking about?

I remember. It was the Royal Hotel in Paddington. I’m glad I’m not the only one who was struggling that night!
