No food at home and too knackered from busy days, we throw some ideas around for where to eat. Ultimately, it had to be nice, quick and relaxing. Thankfully, the space that used to house Omerta has re-opened as Li’l Darlin, a tapas and wine bar. More importantly, I noticed the other night that they had a promotion to coincide with their opening: $4.50 pizzas. Can’t go past that!
The Peking Duck Pizza was a lock; we had to have it. Yummy duck in hoisin sweetness.
Next we had the Chilli Prawn Pizza. Flavoursome but the weakest of the lot.
The Smoked Salmon Pizza was my second favourite. If it weren’t for the crisp crust, it could have been mistaken for a canapé.
The last pizza we got was the Chorizo and Buffalo Mozzarella Pizza. Third favourite. Nothing to write home about though.
Beyond the pizzas, they didn’t really have much more than 8 (?) tapas dishes. Standard tapas fare except for the less common stuffed zucchini flowers. All very reasonably priced; pizza promotion or otherwise. (Yes, we stuffed ourselves with the four pizzas!).
With regards to the space, the layout is nigh identical to Omerta’s old layout. This time around though, they really utilise the bar as patrons place their orders and get drinks from there (unlike Omerta where one had no reason to get up after being seated).

The word? Awesome casual place. Classier and more welcoming than crappy Mad Pizza. Pizzas are great, nothing fancy, but still reasonably priced. Very well stocked bar. I’ll definitely be back for a drink (or three) over tapas.

$4.50 pizza? How can you say no? Looks nice – shame about Omerta though…
