This morning, V and I dropped into the new Bourke Street Bakery in Potts Point, which opened around November (?), to grab some bread and a quick breakfast.
The latest of the Bourke Street Bakeries, this is the largest and nicest one I’ve been to (though I’ve yet to visit the Marrickville branch). In stark contrast to the Alexandria or Surry Hills branches, the Potts Point branch is spacious; you can leisurely choose from the sweet treats in the long display counter before taking a seat outside or on the mini booths and group tables inside.
V has the Sourdough Toast with Ricotta and Mixed Berry Jam. She says the homemade jam is delicious.
I go for the classic Lamb, Almond & Harrisa Sausage Roll. Still one of best sausage rolls I’ve had, especially at this price.
The word? An excellent addition to Macleay Street. The same value gourmet Bourke Street Bakery fare in new resplendent surrounds.

Wow, this place looks HUGE (even bigger than Marrickville).

It was good to actually see the counter at this branch while in the queue. It was a lot of pressure at the Surry Hills one to get to the front and have immediately pick what I wanted!

Looks great! Yet to check it out. I’m a big fan of the Marrickville branch. This is surprisingly bigger (as Miss Piggy pointed out) and sleeker. I love the homemade jams. So good.
P.S Nice meeting you at the blogger meet.

Tis cavernous (in comparison)! No tarts…?!?

It is a little bit, isn’t it? Still well lit. It’s north-facing too so it might get some natural light.
The lady and I totally forgot about the tarts! Fail! (Though admittedly we don’t have much of sweet tooth.)
