2013 Kawasaki Z800


I took delivery of my shiny new toy last Friday, a 2013 Kawasaki Z800. Since then, it’s been on a group ride up north to Palm Beach and to and from work everyday, clocking nearly 300km.

I did my research and due diligence looking at other bikes in its class; primarily the Yamaha FZ8 and the Triumph Speed Triple. A lot of reviews have admonished Kawasaki for the Z800′s specs relative to its rivals (and to its sibling, the lighter, more powerful Z1000) but in the end, the Z800 won me over with its looks and comfortable riding. Also, it makes me think of Robotech in motorcycle form!

I’m still learning about its quirks (poorer mileage than my last motorcycle! Boo!) but so far I’m loving it.
